Episode 1
At Yufan Mountain’s Jingyun Sect, Li Qingyue, the lowest-ranking disciple, is guarding the mountain gate. Due to her poor spellcasting, she gets soaked in the rain. Her senior brother Zhang Suan sees this and kindly uses his magic to shelter her. Inside the sect, the sect leader, Ziyang Zhenren, angrily accuses his top disciple, Meng Chu, of secretly associating with a demonic girl and orders him to kneel in the rain as punishment.
Junior sister Lü Suguan pleads desperately for leniency. Suddenly, a demonic wind rises outside the gate. The so-called demonic girl, Xingman from the Yinlian Sect, knocks Li Qingyue and Zhang Suan aside and storms into the sect. Seeing Ziyang Zhenren pressuring her lover, Meng Chu, Xingman clashes with the Jingyun Sect members. In the chaos, Li Qingyue is injured by Ziyang Zhenren’s Cloud Sword and immediately falls unconscious. Episode 3
Arriving at the Ninth Heaven for the first time, Li Qingyue sees the maid Ningyan and the Thunder Hall steward Cangtu waiting at the Tianmu Peak Villa, but Bai Jiusi is nowhere to be found. From Ningyan, Li Qingyue learns that the Great Sage Xuanzun is at the Thunder Hall in the far south of the Ninth Heaven, while they are at the far north. Feeling lost and worried that missing their wedding night will cause discord, Li Qingyue boldly sets off for the Thunder Hall.
On the way, Li Qingyue is attacked by the Stone Brothers and, severely injured, faints. In the Thunder Hall, Bai Jiusi sits majestically as his top disciple, Long Yuan, reports that the human cultivator Xiao Jingshan, who once tried to destroy the Boundless Monument, is about to be released and may plot against it again.
Meanwhile, Li Qingyue wakes up disoriented and wanders into the main hall, where she accidentally interrupts Bai Jiusi’s meeting. Embarrassed, she tries to leave, but Bai Jiusi uses magic to draw her close and introduces her as their “shimu” (master’s wife), shocking everyone. Bai Jiusi gives Li Qingyue face in front of the crowd, and she is delighted. However, Bai Jiusi accuses her of intentionally appearing before everyone and questions her motives. Li Qingyue suddenly remembers something and takes out a Xiaoqiu fruit from her bag, offering it to Bai Jiusi. Seeing the fruit, Bai Jiusi recalls his past with Hua Ruyue and suspects Li Qingyue is using old memories to provoke him. Furious, he scatters the fruit on the ground.
Episode 4
Li Qingyue is brought back to the Thunder Hall, where steward Cangtu tells her that the groom is actually Bai Jiusi’s top disciple and master craftsman, Fan Jiaojiao. The wedding is only being held because the Domain Law Ruins, which suppress demonic beasts, require festive energy to forge magical instruments. Li Qingyue, benefiting from the situation, is allowed to stay at the Moon Wasteland Courtyard in Thunder Hall instead of returning to Tianmu Peak.
Overjoyed at first, Li Qingyue soon realizes Bai Jiusi never comes to see her. She thinks he is angry that she married someone else and tries to visit him, dressed up, but is stopped by two guards at the door. For days, she can’t get in. Inspired by romance novels, Li Qingyue boldly declares her love in various ways, causing a stir in Thunder Hall. Bai Jiusi is embarrassed and burns her novels, but Li Qingyue is proud to have finally seen the Great Sage and feels hopeful about her pursuit.
Li Qingyue asks Bai Jiusi to teach her spells and tries to make him happy. She is still unskilled and accidentally uses a fire spell, which makes Bai Jiusi suspect she is Hua Ruyue. He tests her by mentioning how he once took Hua Ruyue’s fire spell, but Li Qingyue shows no reaction. Zhang Suan’s damaged qi sea still shows no sign of recovery, and he is depressed. Ziyang Zhenren tells him that the Solar Yang Fruit, which can repair his qi sea, is about to appear, but many will compete for it. Zhang Suan decides to take the risk. He asks about Bai Jiusi’s background and why he is so revered in the Ninth Heaven. Ziyang explains that Bai Jiusi guards the Danxia Realm, the gateway between the human, demon, and divine worlds, and is key to maintaining peace. Hundreds of years ago, only the Four Spirit Immortal could rival Bai Jiusi, but even he has perished.

Bai Jiusi then realizes that Li Qingyue did not come to save the White Snake, but to kill it. Her foundation is destroyed, and she faces certain death. In a brief moment of consciousness, Bai Jiusi learns from Li Qingyue that she wants to kill the White Snake because it once destroyed her family, and she seeks revenge. She also confesses her true feelings for Bai Jiusi.
The disciples of the Jingyun Sect prepare to set out to seize the Solar Flame Fruit. Meanwhile, disciple Li Mo informs Bai Jiusi that the White Snake is dead, but Li Qingyue is severely injured and will surely die unless she receives the Solar Flame Fruit, which can bring her back to life. As they speak, there is a disturbance in the direction of the Prison Law Ruins. Bai Jiusi asks Li Mo if he wants to check on her, but Li Mo remains unmoved.
The Jingyun Sect disciples clash with Qu Xing Man of the Yinlian Sect over the Solar Flame Fruit. During the fierce battle, Bai Jiusi arrives effortlessly and seizes the Solar Flame Fruit. Zhang Suan steps forward to block him but is severely injured by Bai Jiusi. Bai Jiusi uses the Solar Flame Fruit to save Li Qingyue. Fan Ling’er deliberately reveals the story of Bai Jiusi and Hua Ruyue to Li Qingyue, who then learns she is merely a substitute for Hua Ruyue. She tries to remain calm until she discovers Fan Ling’er is the shadow that tried to kill her. Fan Ling’er is exposed and no longer disguises herself, directly attacking Li Qingyue. In a crisis, Li Qingyue flees and finds herself in a strange place.
Meanwhile, Fan Jiaojiao holds another wedding banquet to accumulate auspicious energy and senses someone intruding into the demon beast suppression formation, trembling with fear. After dealing with Fan Ling’er, Bai Jiusi questions Li Qingyue about her unauthorized entry into the Return Ruins and her letting Hong Lian escape, but Li Qingyue counters by asking how he explains the substitute issue.

Lady Xu Ying desperately pleads with Bai Jiusi and Li Qingyue to capture the demon, mentioning that Xu Ying often visited the Lanyue Tower when alive. Bai Jiusi and Li Qingyue arrive at Lanyue Tower and see that Hong Lian has become the most popular courtesan. Li Qingyue wants to capture her but is stopped by Bai Jiusi, who says this is only Hong Lian’s clone, and her true form is elusive. Hong Lian is unafraid and deliberately invites Li Qingyue, disguised as a man, upstairs.
Li Qingyue accepts the invitation without fear. While drinking upstairs, Hong Lian tells Li Qingyue she is waiting for someone who does not love her. After leaving Lanyue Tower, Bai Jiusi mentions that he and Hua Ruyue once subdued Hong Lian. Li Qingyue becomes jealous, and upon questioning, Bai Jiusi reveals that the person Hong Lian waits for is his disciple Li Mo, who refuses to see her, and Hong Lian refuses to appear. They can only wait. Fortunately, Bai Jiusi set up a barrier in Songhe County, preventing Hong Lian from escaping easily.
That night, Li Qingyue hears several seductive voices in her sleep and faints upon waking. She finds herself trapped in an illusion, realizing Hong Lian’s intention is to force Bai Jiusi to call Li Mo to see her. Hong Lian does not deny this and kindly says it is to test Bai Jiusi’s true feelings. Li Qingyue firmly believes Bai Jiusi will come, but Hong Lian is indifferent. She is tormented by evil energy and can only be saved by the blood of someone who truly loves her.
In flashbacks, Hong Lian is tormented by evil energy, and Li Mo even uses his own blood to ease her pain. Li Qingyue realizes the petals are Hong Lian’s precious memories and guesses this is Hong Lian’s true form. Bai Jiusi burns the illusion, and Hong Lian, burned all over, is forced to appear. Bai Jiusi demands Hong Lian return to the Prison Law Ruins, but she escapes, and Bai Jiusi pursues her.
Li Qingyue prepares to help but is called to help Lady Sun deal with her resurrected husband. After finishing, Li Qingyue is poisoned by Lady Sun. Bai Jiusi battles Hong Lian, who deliberately reveals Li Qingyue is in danger, distracting Bai Jiusi. Lady Sun stabs Li Qingyue in the chest. Bai Jiusi, affected by a linked talisman, is also wounded and falls behind. At a critical moment, Li Mo arrives to save Li Qingyue and then comes to Bai Jiusi’s side, defeating Hong Lian and rescuing them both.
Zhang Suan endures excruciating pain to climb the Heavenly Ladder to the Ninth Heaven, where he meets the ferryman who helps him find the Danxia Realm. Meanwhile, Long Yuan descends from the sky, firmly believing Li Qingyue, who uses the fire technique, is the Four Spirit Immortal and the one who severely injured Bai Jiusi. Zhang Suan, misled by Fan Ling’er, flies his sword to the wrong direction and enters the peak of Taiyi. There, he meets the dying Xiao Jingshan, who forces Zhang Suan to bow and become his disciple, imparting all his skills before Zhang Suan faints. Bai Jiusi orders Li Qingyue to be taken back to the Moon Wasteland Courtyard for supervision. Long Yuan refuses to release her, and Ningyan complains to Bai Jiusi, but Long Yuan still refuses and tells Bai Jiusi that there is no White Snake soul under the Nine Netherworlds. Li Qingyue’s previous killing of the White Snake actually helped the White Snake ascend and cross the tribulation, and since Li Qingyue used the fire technique, she must be the Four Spirit Immortal.

Long Yuan earnestly pleads with Bai Jiusi to use the Fan Tian Seal to completely seal Li Qingyue, but Bai Jiusi hesitates. Zhang Suan wakes up, learning that Xiao Jingshan has passed away. Grateful for the teachings he received, Zhang Suan builds a tomb and erects a monument for him. Long Yuan and the disciples kneel, urging Bai Jiusi to seal Li Qingyue. Bai Jiusi enters seclusion and meditation. Suddenly, the Four Realm Revered Ones appear, warning Bai Jiusi that if the Four Spirit Immortals reappear, the Three Realms and Nine Heavens will face a great calamity, forcing him to seal Li Qingyue, even if it means killing the wrong person rather than letting her go.
The two sides exchange words. The Heavenly Messenger appears, reminding Bai Jiusi that his life is tied to the safety of the Boundless Monument. Bai Jiusi promises that the monument will remain safe. Finally, the Heavenly Messenger reveals that Bai Jiusi is the one who understands the Four Spirit Immortals best and knows in his heart whether Li Qingyue is truly one of them.
Zhang Suan comes to rescue Li Qingyue, but Li Qingyue immediately sees through his use of the Heavenly Ladder to reach the Ninth Heaven. Zhang Suan has no time to investigate further and takes Li Qingyue away. Bai Jiusi blocks their path, severely injuring Zhang Suan and demanding to know why she still refuses to admit she is Hua Ruyue.

Elder Xuanwei of the Jingyun Sect senses the summoning and leads the elders and informed disciples to the Ninth Heaven. On Tianmu Peak, Li Qingyue confronts Bai Jiusi. Xuanwei and the Jingyun Sect arrive, identify themselves, and salute Li Qingyue. Then, a battle between immortals and mortals ensues. During the fight between Li Qingyue and Bai Jiusi, Bai Jiusi asks why Li Qingyue wants to kill him. Li Qingyue replies that he deserves it and is even willing to die with him.
She then uses the Fan Tian Seal to press down on Bai Jiusi and covers them both with the Blood Seal under the Fan Tian Seal. After the seal falls, the two disappear. In Songhe County, Li Qingyue faints in the Red Maple Forest. Upon waking, she sees a wedding procession and follows it to the Hongmeng Temple. Watching the newlyweds perform the wedding ceremony, Li Qingyue recalls her past with Bai Jiusi when they once married like ordinary mortals to overcome a love tribulation, but now everything has changed. It turns out that when he was the county captain of Huai’an County, he opened the granary to feed the people during a famine and was falsely accused of being a fugitive. At a crossroads, Meng Changqin fears going to Songhe County will implicate his grandfather and parts ways with Hua Ruyue. After parting, Hua Ruyue meets Bai Jiusi, who patiently cares for her despite her repeatedly interfering in mortal affairs. However, Hua Ruyue leaves again.
Meanwhile, Meng Changqin is surrounded by soldiers while traveling alone. Though he fights fiercely, he is gradually overwhelmed. At a critical moment, Hua Ruyue uses magic to raise a sandstorm to help him escape. At Xihuang Temple, Hua Ruyue suffers backlash and must use energy to recover. Meng Changqin boils water and takes care of her, jokingly calling her his master, which Hua Ruyue reluctantly accepts. At night, Meng Changqin goes out to find food but fails.
He and Hua Ruyue discover the tragic scene of villagers who died of starvation and feel the harshness of the world. Returning to a broken temple, Meng Changqin angrily scolds the gods for ignoring the suffering of the people and stabs a long knife into a statue. The next morning, Hua Ruyue wants to return to Songhe County and persuades Meng Changqin to go with her, but he refuses. She takes some of his fresh blood with bamboo and leaves. Hua Ruyue returns to Qichi Studio and learns that Bai Jiusi left to find someone else because she did not seriously overcome the tribulation. She later finds Bai Jiusi at a teahouse on a blind date.

FEUD Review
This drama depicts a fantasy unique to Chinese dramas. It is a sad unrequited love story where only Baek Gusa remembers the previous life of the female lead, Lee Cheong-wol. Unfortunately, the drama’s atmosphere often portrays the female lead as somewhat immature and airheaded, which is a bit disappointing. When you realize it, it is a love story where Baek Gusa and Lee Cheong-wol meet again after crossing worlds.
However, it is a heartbreaking love story where they cannot be together. Whether it triggers tears or not may divide opinions, but overall, the actors’ performances are decent, so I hope you enjoy watching it.
