[Kdrama] Our Unwritten Seoul cast & Plot summary Ending & filming location 2025

In Seoul, a city both unfamiliar and familiar, unfolds the life-changing story of twin sisters! Following Resident Playbook, tvN’s new weekend drama Our Unwritten Seoul tells the unpredictable romantic coming-of-age tale of identical twin sisters Yoo Mi-ji and Yoo Mi-rae (Park Bo-young takes on a dual role!), who, despite looking exactly alike, have completely different personalities and lives. When they decide to swap lives, their worlds are turned upside down.

Mi-ji (played by Park Bo-young), the younger sister, lives freely in the rural village of Duseon-ri, but is constantly compared to her older sister Mi-rae (also played by Park Bo-young), who works in Seoul. Contrary to everyone’s assumptions, Mi-rae is actually struggling and on the brink in the harsh reality of Seoul life. Upon learning about her sister’s difficult situation, Mi-ji proposes a secret pact: “Let’s switch lives for a few months!” This lie between the two sisters sets off a whirlwind of chaos that shakes both Seoul and Duseon-ri…

Yoo Mi-ji / Park Bo-young

The younger of the identical twin sisters, Mi-ji lives in the rural village of Duseon-ri, working odd jobs around the community without a proper occupation. She is constantly compared to her older sister Mi-rae, who works in Seoul, but Mi-ji has a bright and free-spirited personality. Upon discovering her sister’s harsh reality, she proposes a secret pact to swap lives, kicking off the twins’ web of lies.

(Park Bo-young will portray four different faces: Yoo Mi-ji, Yoo Mi-rae, and each sister pretending to be the other.)

Yoo Mi-rae / Park Bo-young

The older of the identical twin sisters, Mi-rae works in Seoul and appears to lead a successful life. In reality, however, she is pushed to the edge by the hardships of city life. At Mi-ji’s suggestion, she goes down to Duseon-ri and lives as Mi-ji, experiencing a new life she never expected.

Lee Ho-soo / Park Jin-young

A top lawyer at a major law firm, Ho-soo has striking looks and an effortlessly cool demeanor. On the surface, he seems flawless, but in truth, he works harder than anyone else to lead an ordinary life. He is a high school friend of the twin sisters, with whom he once shared pain, and after a chance encounter with Mi-ji in Seoul, he gets caught up in the twins’ secret pact.

Han Se-jin / Ryu Kyung-soo

A novice owner of a strawberry farm. He has little talent for farming and carries a distinctly urban vibe. He becomes involved with Mi-rae, who is pretending to be Mi-ji in Duseon-ri, as her employer. His clumsy hands and suspicious air make Mi-rae’s instincts tingle. His true identity and story add intrigue to the drama.

Our Unwritten Seoul Plot summary

Episode 1

Yoo Mijee, who had to quit track and field due to injury and left her dream track too soon, is living in her hometown, Duson-ri, taking care of her grandmother and working as the village’s “professional laborer.” Meanwhile, her older sister Yoo Mirae always ranked first in school and is now working at a public enterprise in Seoul. Her mother Kim Okhee (played by Jang Youngnam), as well as the neighbor Ajumma Yeom Bunhong (Kim Sunyoung), constantly compare her to her sister and urge her to get a job, but this only makes her resent Mirae even more.

Contrary to what the villagers think, Mirae is struggling alone in Seoul. After helping a senior who exposed corruption, she becomes the target of workplace bullying. When Lee Hosoo visits the countryside and tells Mijee that Mirae seems to be having a hard time, Mijee, secretly concerned, uses her mother’s request to deliver side dishes as an excuse to go to Seoul and meet her sister.

When they meet after a long time, Mirae is strangely different and declares that she won’t go to work even if she gets hurt, which shocks Mijee. Worried, Mijee rushes to her sister and tries to catch Mirae, who is hanging dangerously from a window, but they both end up falling.

Mijee bursts into tears, feeling sorry and frustrated for not realizing how desperate her sister was, and angry at herself. Mirae comforts her younger sister and apologizes, and, feeling lost herself, she suggests they temporarily switch lives like they used to, each doing what the other did best.

“I’ll live as you, you live as me.” — One of Mijee’s famous lines in Seoul.

Episode 2

Mijee tries to adapt to the company as Mirae but is flustered by unfamiliar tasks like field work. Even as she is persuaded by the building owner, Rosa (CEO Rosa), she doesn’t give up and keeps trying. Hosoo, as an internal investigator, keeps getting involved with Mirae (actually Mijee), and the two are increasingly drawn to each other. Mijee realizes during a call with Mirae that they thought they knew each other well, but in fact, they didn’t fully understand each other. Mijee fails repeatedly to persuade CEO Rosa but eventually gains hope when Rosa promises a meeting.

Episode 3

Hosoo realizes Mijee is not Mirae but awkwardly deals with the situation. Mijee and Hosoo recall their high school memories, and subtle feelings begin to grow. Mijee tries hard to persuade Rosa, but Rosa firmly refuses. Mijee is moved by accidentally hearing Rosa recite poetry from her past as a poet. When their eyes meet, Mijee quickly runs away, but later apologizes to Rosa and helps her clean, only for Rosa to tell her not to come again. Mijee feels uneasy in a love triangle with Hosoo and Jieun (a classmate), and after returning home, she calls Mirae.

Episode 4

Mijee attends a class reunion but feels uneasy because she is not Mirae. Mirae works at a strawberry farm in the countryside and faces conflict with Sejin and rumors. At the reunion, Mijee is mistaken for Mirae and struggles, then returns home and talks to Mirae. Mirae learns that their grandmother has been hospitalized and asks Mijee to transfer the hospital bill. Mijee worries about not being able to go to the hospital because of her Friday meeting with Rosa. Rosa injures her back and collapses the day before the meeting, and Mijee suffers a panic attack, receiving help from Hosoo. Hosoo confesses that his first love was Mijee, shocking her.

Episode 5

Hosoo ignores the doctor’s advice not to walk long due to his car accident aftereffects and joins the school hiking event. Mijee waits for Hosoo with mixed feelings, and Hosoo asks Mijee when his first love for her started. At work, Mijee is assigned to write a new business report and works all night. With Taei’s (a colleague) help, she completes the report but is criticized by the new team leader, damaging her self-esteem.

Mijee drinks and calls Hosoo, pouring out her true feelings from that day on the mountain. Drunk, she confesses her feelings to Hosoo without realizing it, and the next day, she doesn’t remember. Hosoo tells her everything is resolved. Mirae wants to quit the farm but starts to open up after Sejin’s persuasion.

Episode 6

Mijee submits her all-night report to the new team leader but is scolded for its low quality. She drinks with Taei for comfort and blames herself for not trying hard enough. Mijee asks Hosoo about the previous night, and they confirm each other’s feelings. Mirae, who wanted to quit the farm, regains her resolve after talking with Sejin.

Mijee notices a notice Rosa posted at home after her discharge, realizing Rosa has dyslexia. At a classmate’s wedding, Mijee and Hosoo, Mirae and Kyunggu (a classmate) all feel complicated emotions and confirm each other’s identities. At the wedding, Mijee reveals to Hosoo that she is Mijee, and Hosoo admits he already knew. They hesitate about their future relationship but confirm their feelings for each other more deeply.

Episode 7 ~ Ending

As Mijee lives Mirae’s life, she faces the workplace bullying and pain Mirae endured and carries out satisfying revenge. While Mijee lives as Mirae, Mirae starts a new life in Mijee’s place, and both experience growth and healing in each other’s shoes.

Hosoo also lives with past trauma, disabilities, and family tragedy, but through his encounter with Mijee (as Mirae), he experiences new change and growth.

Ultimately, Mijee and Mirae find their true selves by living each other’s lives, understand each other, and Hosoo also begins to care for and heal his inner self. In this process, various past wounds and mysteries—such as the death of the twins’ father and Hosoo’s family secret—are resolved, and all the characters come close to a happy ending as they welcome new beginnings.
